Tom Dyer advises on international disputes across a range of sectors.
Tom specialises in international commercial arbitration, and has experience of cases seated in a number of jurisdictions, conducted under a range of international rules, including those of the ICC, LCIA, and UNCITRAL. At the post-award stage, he has advised on global enforcement strategies and coordinated proceedings involving multiple jurisdictions.
His practice encompasses sectors including energy, construction, and oil & gas, and he has previously worked (on secondment) in the In-House Legal team at an independent power producer focused on power generation projects in Africa.
- Acting for a bank and a private equity fund in an arbitration concerning indemnities provided in a prior sale of the bank to the fund (ICC rules, London seat).
- Advising in arbitration proceedings against a global mining company with claims in excess of USD 1 billion (ICC rules, London seat).
- Acting for a global engineering company in an arbitration arising out of the construction of a combined cycle power plant in Argentina (ICC rules, Paris seat).
- Acting for a State-owned entity in arbitrations relating to commercial loan arrangements (LCIA rules, Dubai seat; LMAA rules, London seat; UNCITRAL rules, London seat).
