Sam Frouhar advises on complex transactional, behavioural and litigious competition law matters.

Sam's merger control work has included work for clients in the fuel, tech, and transport sectors. His litigious experience includes proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia, in private enforcement proceedings as well as defending regulatory proceedings brought by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Additionally, Sam regularly advises clients in relation to foreign direct investment in Australia (FIRB).

  • Advising Viva Energy in relation to its acquisition of the remaining 50% interest in LOC Global Pty Ltd (Liberty Oil Convenience).
  • Advising Viva Energy in relation to its A$1.15 billion acquisition of OTR Group
  • Advising Adobe Inc on the Australian aspects of its acquisition of Figma Inc
  • Advising Qatar Airways and British Airways on relevant antitrust immunity filings for their expanded joint business agreement
  • Advising a tech company on the Australian aspects of an acquisition of film-making assets

Competition Litigation

  • Representing Lactalis Australia in relation to proceedings instituted by the ACCC concerning the Dairy Code of Conduct
  • Representing Epic Games in relation to proceedings instituted against Apple and Google concerning alleged anticompetitive conduct regarding app store and in-app payment procession policies
