Oscar Tang advises clients on complex commercial and technology transactions and technology-related regulatory issues.
Oscar advises a broad range of corporate, funds, and financial services clients. He has extensive experience assisting clients with projects involving novel or complex technical issues, from strategic contracting for AI systems to addressing cybersecurity issues in the cloud. He is also an accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security.
Oscar has a strong background in regulatory and contentious matters. He has represented clients under a range of regulatory regimes in their negotiations with and submissions to the European Commission, the Information Commissioner's Office and other data protection supervisory authorities, and financial services regulators. He has also represented clients in high-value disputes arising out of commercial and shareholder and joint venture arrangements, before the English courts and in arbitration under LCIA, ICC and HKIAC rules.
Oscar serves as a trustee of an education charity and co-chair of the board of governors of an inner London school. He also regularly assists charities on a pro bono basis, from advising on company and data matters to representing them in strategic appeals before appellate courts.
