Tom acts for both financiers and sponsors in connection with the development and financing of complex, cross-border and large-scale projects in the renewable power (including offshore wind), conventional power, energy, natural resources and digital infrastructure sectors.
Tom also has experience in the structured financing, trading and leasing of aviation, maritime and offshore oil & gas assets.
- Advised the ECAs (JBIC, NEXI, EDC, UKEF, Eksfin, Credendo and EFA) and lenders in relation to the Hai Long 2A, 2B and 3 offshore wind farm projects in Taiwan. This transaction won Renewable Energy Deal of the Year – Asia Pacific, IJ Global Awards 2023, Asia Pacific Offshore Wind Deal of the Year, PFI Awards 2023 and Best Project Finance Deal, FinanceAsia Achievement Awards 2023
- Advised the lenders in relation to the construction financing of AdaniConneX’s first data centre assets in Noida and Chennai, India. This transaction won Asia Pacific Digital Deal of the Year, PFI Awards 2023
- Advised Actis on the acquisition and refinancing of a 220MW dual-fuel CCGT power plant in Bangladesh. This transaction won Asia Pacific Power Refinancing Deal of the Year 2022, IJ Global
- Advised the lenders in relation to the $700 million senior secured term loan facility for the conversion of the LNG carrier Gimi into an FLNG vessel, to be operated by BP on the Greater Tortue / Ahmeyim Project located on the Mauritania and Senegal maritime border. This was the first commercially syndicated project financing of an FLNG vessel in the international bank market and won African LNG Deal of the Year for 2019 by Project Finance International, Offshore Project Finance Deal of the Year for 2019 by Marine Money and African Oil & Gas Transaction for 2019, IJ Global
