Maxine Mossman has extensive experience in complex commercial and corporate litigation, large-scale litigation and class actions/group litigation, high net worth disputes and fund-related matters. Her clients include financial institutions, corporates, private equity funds, trustees and high net worth individuals. Maxine has advised on a number of high value complex matters, both in England and offshore.
Maxine co-leads the London Private Wealth and Trusts Disputes team and has considerable experience of Cayman, Jersey and BVI proceedings.
- Various v News Group Newspapers (defending News Group in the phone hacking litigation, which is managed litigation in the English Chancery Division)
- Representing a corporate in respect of a purported CPR 19.6 representative action in the Commercial Court.
- ConocoPhillips Company v Chrysaor E&P Limited (acted for Chrysaor in a post M&A dispute, in respect of its contractual interpretation and rectification claims)
- Renova v Gilbertson (acted for Brian Gilbertson and Affinity in relation to a Cayman Islands derivative claim brought by Renova in relation to the misappropriation of assets from a private equity fund)
- Represented a major European private equity firm in an English Commercial Court breach of warranty claim
- Terra Firma v Citi (represented Citi in its successful defence of the fraudulent representation claim made by Terra Firma in relation to its USD 2.4bn EMI acquisition, claim discontinued 3 days into 6 week trial)
- Jakob v Mazur and others (advised an offshore trust company in Insolvency Act proceedings in the English Chancery Division)
